Description

Steep Creek Salmon Viewing Area, Phase 2: Work includes the construction of a concrete sidewalk, construction of a rockery wall and timber guardrail, construction of timber stairs with metal handrails, construction of timber and glulam viewing structures supported with high strength grout piles, construction of fiberglass decking and timber/wire mesh guardrails on the viewing structures, construction of aggregate trails, construction of kickrails and handrails, installation of an asphalt pavement with bituminous surface on the new and existing aggregate trails, removal of fiberglass decking on four existing structures and installation of new specified decking, removal of two existing structures, installation of pre-manufactured benches, and installation of Government furnished interpretive signs and one pre-manufactured bench. The project is located near Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center, off Glacier Spur Road in Mendenhall Valley, approximately 12 miles northwest of downtown Juneau, Alaska. Juneau is accessible by the Alaska Marine Highway system, commercial airlines, and commercial barge service. Contract performance time will be 382 calendar days. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. The estimated price range for this project is $500,000 -- $1,000,000.
