Description

NASA/LaRC is hereby soliciting information for potential sources for the design, furnish, and installation of a 20 megawatt, approximately 20kVDC, 12 pulse -- thyristor phase controlled DC power supply. Summary requirements include but are not limited to the following: (1) Management and engineering required to design, furnish and install the new power supply; (2) Fabrication and manufacturing of the thyristor power supply and all related equipment; (3) Demolition of an existing power supply and related equipment; (4) Installation and integration of the new thyristor power supply with existing facility interfaces and within existing real estate; and (5) Comissioning and documentation of the new thyristor power supply. For improved reliability, the DC power supply shall be designed utilizing the minimum number of power components as possible. The Contractor shall provide a history of successful installations utiizing similar power supply technology. Power supply efficiency will be evaluated. The specification and drawings for this requirement are attached. Potential offerors are requested to submit the following information: (1) Any comments or questions on the attached Technical Specification, Construction Specification, and drawings; (2) Cost breakdown for the work. All cost/pricing information will be kept confidential; (3) Estimated time to complete the work; (4)Warranty information. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime); list of customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement; and point of contact -- address and phone number). A commercial item is defined in Internet "Note A". No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these cites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement.
