Description

Drydock, Conversion and Repair, NOAA Ship ADVENTUROUS to be performed at the contractor's facility. Performance period to commence approximately October 16, 2001, and shall be completed on or before June 22, 2002(246 calendar days). Drydock: Graving or Single Section Floating. Basic contract items will include Towing of Vessel from Norfolk, Virginia to contractor's facility, Propeller and Propeller Shaft Inspections, Underwater Hull Preservation, Sea Valve Overhauls, Sea Water System Modification and Repair, Main Diesel Generator Engine Overhauls, Anchor Windlass Overhaul, Modify Mission Deck, Long Line Fishing Deck Modifications, Propulsion Control & Monitor System Repair, and others. There will also be option items. Vessels current homeport is Norfolk, Virginia, post conversion homeport is Honolulu, HA. Vessel will be available for inspection from July 26 to August 9, 2001, at the Marine Operations Center -- Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia. Characteristics of NOAA Ship ADVENTUROUS: Length Overall -- 244 feet -- 0 inches; Length Between Perpendiculars -- 194 feet 0 inches; Beam -- 43 feet; Draft -- 14 feet-9 inches; Depth to Main Deck -- 20 feet 0 inches; Displacement (FL) -- 2283 LT; Sustained Speed -- 11 knots; Shaft Horsepower (maximum continuous rating, ABS) -- 1,600 SHP.
