- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Samuel Jones, Frederick, MD to develop standards and measurement methods for accurate Scanning Electron Microscope calibration, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Only One Source Reasonably Available. Specific tasks include: 1) technical support in the operation of the Hitachi Model S-4700 Scanning Electron Microscope; 2) technical support to obtain the data necessary for the issuance of the polysilicon linewidth standard; 3) preparation and inspection of the SEMATECH reference samples; and, 4) maintenance of the high-resolution SEM instrument and laboratory at a high performance level to obtain the best and world class micrographs for NIST research endeavours. The proposed contractor is known to possess the years of specialized training and the requisite knowledge necessary to accomplish all work. Award to another source would mean intolerable delays to the NIST Precision Engineering Division while the source = attained the appropriate training. The period of performance will be one year from date of award with three (3) one-year option periods. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541710 and the size standard is 500 employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing. This notice of intent is not a request for competition. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the closing date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) is not available
