- Description
- Purpose: The Agency for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration(SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment(CSAT) through the Program Support Center plans to award a 10 month sole source simplified acquisition to the Johnson Institute Foundation. The anticipated date of award is July 6, 2001. This is the first phase of a multi year effort to assist the faith community to integrate substance abuse treatment and prevention education into ministerial and pastoral missions, programs and activities. This effort is especially, designed to address the addicted partners and children. The Contractor shall but not be limited to the following: The Contractor shall develop a work plan and submit it to the Project Officer 30 days after E.D.O.C. The Contractor shall arrange and conduct a meeting with the National Association for Children of Alcoholism (NACOA). The meeting will be to plan how to review best methods for integrating education on addiction in existing seminary courses. The Contractor shall identify 12 to 15 key religious persons in seminary course development and meet in the Washington, D.C. area. This meeting shall be for approximately 2 days. The names of the identified persons shall be submitted to the Project Officer 30 days before the proposed meeting. = The Contractor shall strategies and faith and pastoral persons can adopt to address the needs of addicted persons and affected families. Identify what steps are necessary for the development and adoption of core competencies for clergy and other pastoral leaders. Identify and outline what corollary training and skills are needed to reach level of competencies. The Contractor shall conduct a literature search concerning addiction treatment, prevention and outreach education and skills for clergy and pastoral leaders. The Contractor shall submit a report concerning the two day meeting held in the Washington, D.C. area. The Contractor shall submit a monthly one page progress report by the 15th of each month. The Contractor shall submit a final report on all the activities planned 2314 Universand implemented during the contract by April 30, 2002. Schedule of Deliverables: 1. Work Plan -- Due Date -- 30 days EDOC 2. Monthly Report -- Due Date -- 15th of each month 3. Meeting Report -- Due Date -- 15 days after meeting 4. Final Report -- April 30, 2002 The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to = compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
