Description
This is an intent to award a sole source procurement for commercial items under This is an intent to award a sole source procurement for commercial items under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6. This order will be issued under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), under the Test Program, FAR 13.5. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7011 and the Small Business Size Standard is $5,000,000.00. This will be an all or none firm-fixed price contract. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Riviera Hotel and Casino, 2901 Las Vegas Blvd, South, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109, for the rental of a conference/training center during the week of August 5, 2001 through August 10, 2001. Based on a detailed market survey and contact with the Riviera Hotel and Casino, it is determined that the Riviera Hotel was the only hotel that can meet the following specifications: The annual conference requires a meeting facility capable of seating 300 individuals in a conference/school room configuration, with room to display and demonstrate bulky exhibits during presentations (approximately 7,500 square feet). In addition, three conference/school rooms capable of seating 125-150, with room to display and demonstrate bulky exhibit during presentations (approximately 3,000 square feet per room). Further, a trade show/focus group area of approximately 25,000 square feet capable of being partitioned into 13 smaller rooms is required. Five of the trade show/focus group rooms should be capable of being partitioned into rooms approximately 3,000 square feet each. The remaining eight trade show/focus group area should be capable of being partitioned into rooms approximately 1,000 square feet each. This trade show/focus group are must be contiguous to the primary conference rooms for security reasons. In addition, an administrative area/registration desk/office area, with communication and telephone service is required. All the above areas must be capable of 24-hours lock down for security purposes. The conference rooms and focus groups/trade show rooms must be isolated from the general public. The conference site should also have at least 300 individuals or more sleeping rooms available at the Government per diem rate. Hospitality desks or tables located on the outside of the conference rooms and trade show/focus group area is required to provide an add degree of security; ie. a security person can intervene if an outside guest attempts to enter the conference area. In addition, four meeting rooms with conference tables capable of seating 12 -- 15 individuals is required. Said meeting rooms do not have to be contiguous to primary area. Hotel is to provide light refreshments, with two breaks per day on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and one a.m break on Thursday. Furthermore, a banquet for approximately 300 in an area separate from above will be required on August 9, 2001. Also needed are (8) small screens, (5) medium screens, (2) large screens, (9) overhead projectors, (4) microphones, (1) LCP Projector, (3) VCR's, (9) monitors, (4) electrical distributor centers, (4) audio racks, (20) telephones lines, (6) ISDN lines, and (10) flip charts. A Department of Labor Wage Determination is being obtained for this requirement. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received 15 (fifteen) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award to be made one (1) day after closing. Telephone requests will not be honored.*****
