Description

CACI-ASG-BALS-CBD-001 DUE 062901 POC Roy Latigo, (210)735-1903. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The purpose of this notice is to identify interested, capable sources to manufacture a BALS framework based on technical data provided by CACI-ASG. The United States Air Force owns and is patenting the design of the BALS. The BALS framework will be installed to mate two 463L cargo pallets to form a bi-level cargo pallet for use in special mission assignments. Applicable contractor screening criteria for this sources sought notice is: (1) production and in-plant engineering support for the (2) manufacture, (3) heat treatment, (3) finish, (4) inspection(s), (5) documentation and (6) assembly of the various components to be used on the BALS. The assembly requires the acquisition of various MIL-SPEC items and commercial off-the-shelf items. The assembly will be subjected to form, fit, and functional testing. After successful testing, workmanship, materials, accuracy, price and production, performance will be evaluated for the purpose of qualifying a vendor(s) for the production of the BALS framework and its related parts. Firms selected will be awarded a subcontract for this effort. Firms having the ability to provide this service should notify Roy Latigo in writing prior to COB 06/29/01.
