- Description
- The United States Environmental Protection Agency, National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL), Atlantic Ecology Division (AED), Narragansett, Rhode Island, requires support services in the operation and maintenance of its Glassware Preparation Facility. NHEERL/AED provides marine, coastal and estuarine research for the Agency's Office of Research and Development. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide support to AED by providing glassware, plasticware, and other laboratory related cleaning for scientific personnel. Technical support services shall include washing, acid stripping and sterilization of laboratory glassware and the sterilization of sea water for algae culture. This procurement will require the services of a laboratory assistant in the Glassware Preparation Facility. The Agency anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price performance based contract with a base period of twelve (12) months and four (4), twelve (12) month options to extend the contract term. THIS PROCUREMENT WILL BE A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 561990 ($5 million). This requirement is a follow-on to contract 68-C7-0009 with SAI Consulting Company. It is anticipated that the contract will have an effective date of October 1, 2001. The anticipated release date of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is on or about July 11, 2001. Proposals will be due approximately 30 days later. The RFP and any subsequent amendment will be available ONLY via the internet World Wide Web at http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd. No telephone or facsimile requests will be honored. See Numbered Note 1.
