Description

ISSUE DATE: 07/09/01. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR HUBZONE CERTIFIED CONTRACTORS; FAR CLAUSE 52.219-3 APPLIES TO THIS PROCUREMENT. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to Modify Boat Maintenance Facility HVAC at USCG Detachment Sandy Hook, Highland NJ (Monmouth County). The work includes the replacement of heating and ventilating equipment and modification of the air conditioning system = for a 5,750 square foot boat maintenance facility. Work includes cleaning existing low temperature water heating distribution piping; replacing all hot water heating terminal units with associated appurtenances: replacing heating and ventilation air handling unit; demolition ducts above suspended ceiling in 525 square foot offices; replacing through-wall and roof mounted exhaust fans; and incidental related work. Estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 07/09/01. The bid opening date is scheduled for 8/9/01 at 2:00 pm local time. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
