- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation, Boulder City Regional Office, Boulder City, Nevada, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation, P.O. Box 712, York, PA 17405, for two servomotors. The servomotors are double-acting, oil-pressure-operated, hydraulic cylinders that control the wicket gates on a 6.5 megawatt, horizontal Kaplan-type turbine manufactured by Voith Siemans. The servomotors are clevis mount, 1000 psi, 8 inch bore, 4-inch piston and a 24-1/2 inch stroke. Overall length is 126 inches. One servomoter is equipped with an adjustable mechanical stop to limit the travel of the gate mechanism. Port positions are as follows: cushion adjust screw position -- 1 & 5; cushion check position -- 2; air bleed position -3. It is extremely important to maintain the exact interchangeability of the servomotors between each unit. The replacement servomotors must be identical to the existing servomotors to ensure proper fit and operation. Each servomotor is fitted with positioning transducers that must fit up to the new servomotors with modification. The purpose of purchasing two additional servomotors is to allow the change out of the servomotors on one unit for overhaul. This process will continue until all three turbines have had their servomotors overhauled. The servomotors were specifically designed by Sheffer Corporation for the contract installation of the hydro units for Voith Hydro, Inc. (former business name) back in 1989. This work was engineered and proprietary drawings were made according to the design of the servomotors. This procurement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition procedures. The anticipated award date is July 2, 2001. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. Offers shall show contractor's capability to provide the required work and quotes are to be submitted no later than June 29, 2001 4:00 p.m., PST. Responses to this notice should be mailed to Bureau of Reclamation, Attn: Leslie Leavitt, PO Box 61470, Boulder City, NV 89006-1470 or sent via facsimile to (702) 293-8050.
