Description

Contractor to provide all necessary labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary to install 6 inch round automatic pneumatic tube system, complete ready for operation, including blowers with motors and motor starters, stations, carriers, centralized computer controls, automatic selector equipment, tubing and fittings, wiring, conduit and necessary accessories and equipment for the Omaha Division, VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System, 4101 Woolworth Avenue, Omaha, NE 68105, in strict accordance with drawings and specifications. The work consists of field location of pneumatic tube terminal units and other equipment necessary for a complete and working pneumatic tube system. The contractor will coordinate the installation with F&B Constructors for work being installed on floors 5, 6, and 7. Work at all other locations will be coordinated with the approval of the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative for this project. Approval by the VA Medical Center Engineer is required of products and services of proposed manufacturer, suppliers and installers will be based upon submission by Contractor of certifications as follows. Manufacturer is regularly and presently manufacturers material handling equipment specified as one of his principal products. Installer has technical qualifications of at least 3 years experience, trained supervisory and installation personnel and facilities to install specified items. Approval may be granted by the VA Engineers option for vendors with less than 3 years experience upon presentation of satisfactory evidence that all requirements of this specification can be met. RFP No. 636-37-01 has been assigned to this solicitation and will be available approximately July 9, 2001, and will be due back by approximately August 8, 2001. NAICS Code No. 235950 Pneumatic tube construction contractors, with a size standard of $11.5 million has been assigned to this solicitation. The cost range is $250,000 to $500,000.
