- The U.S. Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic (MLCLANT), Norfolk, VA intends to award an airport services contract on a sole source basis to St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, Clearwater, FL. This acquisition will provide the use of airfield runways, taxiways and ramp space for takeoffs and landings; associated support services such as fuel storage, utilities, crash, fire and rescue services; and, security guard services required by the Coast Guard Air Station located in Clearwater, FL. The St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport is deemed the only responsible source capable of providing the required services. This announcement is for informational purposes only and is not a request for quotes. No solicitation is available. The proposed acquisition is a follow-on contract to ongoing Contract DTCG84-98-C-7ABV0A. This requirement is solicited in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.302-1, Other than Full and Open Competition (Sole Source) using the policies contained in FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and the procedures in FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. A Firm-Fixed Price type contract will be awarded for a one-year base period, starting 1 October 2001 trough 30 September 2002; and, four one-year option periods, if exercised by the Government.
