Description

The General Services Administration (GSA), Special Services Division will provide transportation and relocation services in support of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) move to College Park, Maryland. The contractor shall provide the necessary manpower, materials, a dedicated project manager, supervisor, equipment, transportation, to relocate FDA/CFSAN. FDA/CFSAN will be relocated from multiple facilities located in the Washington DC and Maryland area, to their new facility in College Park, Maryland. The move will be conducted in phases for which the actual dates and time will be specified in the solicitation. The move phase will consist of lab's moving Tuesday through Thursday and administrative offices moving Friday through Sunday. Preferred work hours are 8:00 AM until 12:00 Midnight. Contractor shall be expected to exhibit flexibility during the move process to accommodate changes. Contractor performance is expected to begin on or about October 1, 2001 and continue through April 1, 2002. The service will require the removal of boxes, freestanding furniture, large quantities of laboratory and computer equipment, as well as office and laboratory materials, with packing assistance being provided. A minimum amount of furniture will be relocated to the New Facility. All excess property will be removed to FDA's warehouse. This procurement is Totally Set-Aside for Small Businesses. The requirement is being conducted as a Sealed Bid. Type of contract is Firm-Fixed Price. The procurement NAICS Code is 484110 and the Bus. Size is $18.5 million. The solicitation will be issued on or about July 17, 2001. The pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 06, 2001 at 10:00 AM. The property inspection and walk-through is scheduled for 2 consecutive days only, August 7th and 8th. Prospective bidders interested in attending the property inspection and walk-through MUST submit to this office in writing the company's name, address, name of representative attending (ONLY 1 PERSON PER FIRM), along with the telephone and fax numbers.
