Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-27. This solicitation is being issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ) # 811008. National American Industrial Classification is 33422, and the Business Standard is 750 employees. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate this contract action on a sole source basis with M/A-Com Private Radio Systems, Inc., 3315Old Forest Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501. The purpose for this sole source is the necessity for equipment compatible and able to communicate with the Albuquerque Police Department's current radio system. The M/A-Com equipment listed below is the only equipment available to meet this requirement. This contract action will result in a Firm Fixed Price -- One Time Buy contract. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Warranty of (1) one year or better is requested. The purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonably available to the purchasing activity. Delivery shall be 45 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination FBI, 415 Silver SW, Suite 300, Albuquerque, NM 87102 -- All Quotes shall be submitted to FBI, Room 6875, JEH-FBI Building, 935 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20535 no later 3:00pm EDT, July 5, 2001, and be clearly marked with RFQ# 811008. In addition, all potential offerors are hereby notified that due to the security requirements, Federal Express, D.H.L., UPS, ETC, deliveries for the FBI Headquarters facility are now received at an off-site location. No hand carried bids will be accepted. Therefore, the response time of 5 days has been extended to 10 days. The FBI has allowed five (5) extra days from the release of this CBD synopsis/solicitation for receipt of a bid. No hand carried quotes will be accepted. Each offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and Certifications, Commercial Item (2/01) with this proposal.
