Description

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a purchase order to National Fire Service Incident Management System Consortium (NFSIMSC) to prepare a Model Procedures Guide for Highway Incidents. The guide will provide standardized guidelines to assist the number of disciplines and agencies who are impacted by a major incident on a busy thoroughfare. The NFSIMSC has developed and published six model procedure guides dealing with a variety of emergency incidents. The procedures have become the standard within the emergency response community. This procedure guide will address unique problems with traffic incidents. Because NFSIMSC has developed and published the other model procedures, they are considered the only source that can provide this service. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about July 9, 2001.
