- COMMERICAL RECOVERY SERVICES(CRS) RFP# CS-01-052 is issued/posted in FedBizOpps on June 25th, 2001. Commercial Recovery SERVICES- Disaster Recovery and Data Replication requirement. The United States Custom Service (USCS) is conducting a full and open competition and seeking sources to provide the following requirements: Vendor to provide two separate facilities (Primary and Secondary) that meet USCS Level III Security requirements (can be obtained from POC). The Primary facility shall be located no closer than 20 miles and no further than 350 miles from Springfield, VA. These facilities shall be ready for USCS use with the computer ready infrastructure (raised floor, air conditioning, chilled water, power, automatic fire detection and suppression systems, and pre-positioned communications facilities) and required equipment. The Secondary facility shall be located outside of 350 miles from Springfield, VA and not within the same city as the Primary facility. The Primary facility must be able to provide the capability to replicate 21 terabytes of Hitachi 7700E and 9960 DASD. The Secondary facility must be able to access the replicated data at the Primary facility over a secured WAN or an internal network. The data consists of Operating System, Production Data, and ShadowImage Data. The timelines of the data is to be as close to the time of incident as possible. All data must be available for use immediately and not more than 24 to 36 hours old. During the 15-minute peak traffic period there are approximately 14.5 million I/Os of which approximately 3.3 million are writes. The USCS currently operates 4 CMOS machines with 8 LPARS and over 3800 MIPS. The machines operate under the IBM Operating System (OS/390) and have access to more than 21 terabytes of Direct Access storage Device (DASD). The USCS also operates a SUN Solaris and AIX UNIX environment with more than 4 terabytes of DASD that is integrated with the mainframe. Most USCS applications are required to be available to the user community on a 24 x 7 basis. This announcement is a solicitation for a proposal for a contract award. The Government does not intend to pay sources that respond to this announcement. The appropriate NAIC is 541519 ($18M). The United States Customs Service has determined that this requirement will be conducted as a full and open competition and not a small business set-aside, based on the evaluation of small business capability statements and literature.
