Description

This project is for Overlay Paving and Guardrail Installation on the Highland Scenic Highway on the Marlinton Ranger District of the Monongahela National Forest in Pocahontas County, West Virginia. The total project length is 22.34 miles with the overlay paving being 9.63 miles. The work consists of, but is not limited to: 1) Aggregate base course for road shoulders; 2) Asphalt patching and leveling course where needed; 3) Asphalt surface couse on designated portion of road; 4) Guardrail removal/repair/installation and resetting; 5) Striping (painting) of centerline, edgelines and handicapped parking areas; 6) Herbicide Treatment of roadside; 7) Cleaning culverts, replacing inlet grates; and 8) Replacing Log curbs. There will be a pre-quote meeting/site visit on July 19, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. starting at the Little Laurel Creek Overlook on the Highland Scenic Highway. The contractor will have 45 days to complete the project after receiving a notice to proceed. The NAICS Code for this project is 234110, Highway and Street Construction. This project will be solicited using the Invitation for Bid format, on an unrestricted basis, with no set-asides. The estimated dollar value of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
