Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR WAREHOUSE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DUE 07262001. POC Sharon Dowse, 816-926-6108 This request for information (RFI) solicits information and interest from the business community which may be used in developing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for providing a warehouse inventory management system for the USDA Warehouse in Kansas City, Missouri. Interested parties to submit information packages on warehouse inventory management systems meeting the following requirements: General System Requirements, Run on Windows NT and 2000, Use TCP/IP PROTOCOL TO ALLOW FOR LANWAN, Client/server design, Use Microsoft SQL/Server database platform, 24 x 7 phone support, 1 year onsite support. Warehouse Inventory Managements System Requirements: Web Interface, Accept online orders from user, estimated 3,000 customers, minimum of 25 simultaneous users. ID/password security with graphical interface. E.G. Provide multiple levels of user security and track transactions by ID. Accept/Issue barcode labels for all items. Real-time RF, batch or key entry. E.G., Accept real-time data from integrated, portable/wireless handheld bar code readers (wireless). Adjust inventory in real=time as items are received and issued. Multiple locations per item. Provide for manual assignment of group item and catalog numbers. Allow multiple stock numbers (at lease 2 levels), first level minimum of 13 characters. E.G., vendor stock number & national stock number. FIFO,LIFO,FEFO: Issue items on a FIFO, FEFO or LIFO basis. Identify/track items by lot number, shelf life, and location in the warehouse. Notify warehouse personnel of expiring/inactive items. Determine and track minimum stock levels, i.e., forecasting capability. Direct received items to location in warehouse. Generate picks on handheld RF scanners. Scanner has ability to show picks, complete picks, back order pick items, pick to ship, pick to stage, pick to pack, pick to replenish. Paper backup operations for all functions. Tracks sequential control supplies, such as checks, tags, etc. E.g., Issue items with serial numbers sequentially, entering returned items back into inventory and reissuing first in the next order. Multiple item numbers and orders per receipt. Search and view items searching by their locations in the warehouse, nomenclature, federal stock number, catalog number, requisition number, transaction, and purchase order number. View items by purchase order number, receipt date, model, serial number and description. View items sorted by serial number, catalog number, and national stock number. Generate electronic request (AD700) to procurement when minimum stock level is reached. Ability to generate from RF scanners when pick exceeds stock. Validate/reconcile receipts against orders. Maintain and able to sort inventory for an offsite warehouse location (supply store). Generate ad hoc reports. User defines topics to view, sort and sort grouping. System pulls back orders for fill when receivables match back ordered items. Provide import, export, and maintenance of address/contact lists. Interfaces with vendor, end-user, and shipping label information located in external databases/files. E.g., Print receiving documents and shipping labels, such as interfacing with FEDEX label printing software. Maintain archive/history files. In accordance with FAR Subpart 39.2, supplies and services proposed on this RFI must meet the applicable accessibility standards for electronics and information technology as set forth at 36 CFR part 1194, unless an exception determination is made by the contracting officer prior to award of an individual task/delivery order (or the initial award of the contract for any supplies or services acquired under the initial award) Responses to this RFI are due by 26, July, 2001.
