Description

Solicitation N00421-01-Q-0422 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This action is not set aside for small business. The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed contract for eight (8) Data Modems on a sole source basis with Harris Corporation, 1680 University Ave, Rochester, NY 14610, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The modems have proprietary data that is held by Harris Corporation only. In addition, the modem eliminates the effects of intersymbol interference. The contract line item number and description is ** CLIN 0001 Data Modem (PN: RF-5710A-MD001), quantity 8;. Award is expected 09 July 2001. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 03 July 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
