- Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the Coast Guard Group New Orleans, LA, 55 Foot Aids to Navigation Boats including but not limited to the following Indefinite Items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Renew Rubrail, (3) Remove and Reinstall Rubrail, (4) Renew Rubrail Fasteners, (5) Air Test Skeg, (6) Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel Oil Tank(s), (7) Remove and Reinstall Propeller, (8) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shaft, (9) Perform Minor Repair and Reconditioning of Propeller, (10) Renew Propeller Shaft Coupling, (11) Straighten Shaft, (12) Engine Realignment, (13) Renew Strut, (14) Renew Propulsion Shaft Strut Bearings, (15) Renew Stern Tub, (16) Renew Propulsion Shaft Stern Tube Bearings, (17) Overhaul, Renew, and Test Valves, (18) Overhaul Crane and Deck Winch Hydraulic System, (19) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assembly, (20) NoFoul Coating System for Rudder, (21) Renew Crane Pedestal Bearings, (22) Renew Wood Fenders, (23) Renew Wooden Deck Planking and Inspect Deck Plank Retainers, (24) Preserve Main Deck, Swim Platform and Port and Starboard Engine Room Hatches, (25) Preserve Underwater Body, (26) Preserve Cabin Exterior, (27) Preserve Freeboard, (28) Renew Corrosion Preventative Anodes, (29) Ultrasonic Testing, (30) Routine Drydocking, (31) Emergency Drydocking, (32) Inspect and Overhaul of Bouy Crane (Level II), (33) Composite Labor Rate, (34) Laydays. Vessels are 55 Foot Aids to Navigation Boats. Vessel length is 58 feet 9 inches; breadth is 17 feet, 0 inches. Vessel homeports are located within Coast Guard Group New Orleans, LA area. Availability schedules are defined separately for each vessel. The performance period for each vessel is thirty-five (35) calendar days. The place of performance is not geographically restricted; however, the Coast Guard will transport the vessel to and from any shipping point within a safe operating radius of 100 nautical miles from the Coast Guard facility at New Orleans, LA. Safe operating conditions are defined as (1) less than 5-foot seas, (2) more than 5 feet water depth, and (3) no more than 30 nautical miles off shore. The Contractor shall transport the vessel from a designated point within the safe operating range to the repair facility if the repair facility is located outside the range of safe operating radius. After completion of the vessel's availability, the Contractor shall return the vessel from the repair facility to a designated point within the safe operating range of the vessel. Transportation of the vessel by the Contractor shall be by land, or by towing in a protective water way only at the contractor's expense which shall be included in the bid amount. The contract will consist of one (1) base year and three (3) option years to be exercised at the Government's discretion. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be provided free of charge. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g. *.TIF, *.TIF (group4), *.DWG, and *.DWF, etc.) Drawings are also still available in hard copy. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. The proposed contract listed here is set aside for small businesses only. Plans and specifications will be issued on of after 13 July 2001.
