Description

This project provides an approximately 5,500 Square Meter Visitors Quarters, Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Texas, including guest rooms, laundry rooms, lobby with registration area, housekeeping areas, interior entrances to rooms, meeting room, elevators, necessary site work and grading, utilities, fire protection, access/service drives and parking areas, communications, and landscaping. The building envelope is a concrete masonry unit and steel frame with brick veneers, cast in place concrete, and precast concrete panels. Floors are concrete slab on grade for the first floor and concrete over metal deck on the second level. The roof is a standing seam metal pre-finished system. Interior partitions are either metal studs and sheetrock or concrete masonry units. Flooring is either ceramic or porcelain tile, vinyl tile, or carpet. Duration of the construction project will be approximately 450 days. Estimated cost range is between $10 Million and $25 Million. Solicitation to be issued on or about 10 August 2001. Proposals are due on or about 11 September 2001 at 1400 hours. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 233320, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, which corresponds to SIC Code 1522. The Small Business Size Standard is $27.5 Million. The plans and specifications will be placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. Plans and specs will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through 3.5" diskette, CD-ROM and/or the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
