Description

This project consists of replacing existing HVAC units with a ground source heat pump system, and replacing existing flat roof with a pitched roof system. The Contractor will furnish all materials, labor, equipment and supervision necessary to accomplish the work of this project. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: (1) removing an insulated built-up roofing system from the Visitor Center and installing a new roofing system consisting of new 4 in 12 roof trusses, plywood sheathing and composite shingles. Included, is extending the existing roof penetrations to the new roofing system and access openings to the new attic space. (2) Furnishing and installing a new earth-coupled, water-source HVAC system including ducting for the entire building; HVAC units to be installed in the new attic space. (3) Install condensate drain lines. (4) Install propane tanks, manifolds and LPG piping to kitchen area. (5) Miscellaneous electrical work includes installing a new primary transformer and transformer switch for Visitor Center electrical system. This project is located at Great Basin National Park, Baker Nevada. Contract duration is 150 calendar days. The Price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This procurement will result in a firm fixed-price contract. This procurement is offered as full and open competition to both small and large businesses. The National Park Service encourages the participation of small, disadvantaged, and woman owned business enterprises. The NAICS code for this procurement is 233320 and the annual size standard is $27.5 Million. This procurement will be awarded to the responsible offeror whose offer represents the BEST VALUE to the Government. The Best Value Determination will be made on the basis of (1) acceptability of the offer; (2) capability (e.g. experience and past performance) of the offeror; and (3) price reasonableness. The Government will assess the capability of each offeror on the basis of (1) its organizational experience; (2) its organizational past performance; (3) its qualifications and experience of key personnel; and (4) its demonstrated ability to comply with instructions. The Government considers an offeror's capability to be approximately equal to its price. THE SITE VISIT IS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 31, 2001 with participants to meet at 10:00AM at the Great Basin National Park Visitor Center, Baker, Nevada.
