Description

(100% 8(a) Set-aside) The USDA, ARS, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, Beltsville, Maryland, has a requirement for demolition of 4 buildings. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, transportation, supervision and waste disposal to completely demolish Buildings 192C, 192D, 192E, 192I and a plumbing appurtenance to the 192 buildings. Lead and asbestos removal and disposal required. All work shall be completed within 60 calendar days following receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This procurement is 100% set-aside for competition restricted to eligible 8(a) contractors under the 8(a) Business Development (BD) Program (FAR 19.8). The magnitude of the project is between $100,000. and $250,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 235940 with a small business size standard of $11.5 million. This is an Invitation For Bid (IFB) using procedures from FAR Part 14, Sealed Bidding. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder whose bid is responsive to the terms of the IFB and is most advantageous to the Government, considering price and price related factors. Solicitation packages available by written request to the above address or by fax at 301/504-5009. The site visit is scheduled for July 26, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. The Government recommends that contractors bidding on this project visit the site and make themselves aware of the conditions. The solicitation is scheduled to be released on or about July 20, 2001, with bids due on or before August 21, 2001 by 2:00 p.m. (EST). A public bid opening will be held. Any responsible/eligible 8(a) contractor may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Anticipated award is September 2001.
