Description

Program Manager, Light Armored Vehicles is seeking information to support a potential upgrade or combination of upgrades intended to increase the lethality of the Light Armored Vehicle 25mm vehicle. The primary configuration change under investigation is to upgrade the 25mm gun to a 30mm gun. It is our preference to upgrade the main gun utilizing the existing turret. However, we are willing to consider other technical approaches that could involve a new turret. We are also seeking information on other potential upgrades that could be applied to improve vehicle lethality. Request any interested party provide information on potential lethality upgrades to the LAV-25 by NLT 21 Jul 01. Request that the information provided include Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for upgrading 408 LAV-25 vehicles. Request that this ROM information be broken out to address different options/approaches that could be pursued to address potential affordability concerns. Also request you provide enough cost and technical detail to understand the assumptions made and key cost drivers. This information shall be used for internal Government analysis only. No solicitation is currently available. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response is not a request to be considered for a contract award. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced later in the CBD and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately.
