Description is changed as follows:This is a combined synopsis for the Sole Source procurement to provide maintenance and repair service for a Philips Model SL20 Linear Accelerator and is prepared in accordance with the format under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, and 12.6, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; the proposal and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27 and is issued for Request for Quotation #RFP 549-68-01. The NAICS code is 811219 and the small business size standard is $5M. The proposed contract action is for the maintenance and repair of a Philips Model SL20 Linear Accelerator, serial number 5094, for use in Radiation Oncology Services and the requirement will be for the base year (date of award through 30 Sep 01) plus 3 option years. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with Elekta Oncology Systems under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit their proposals. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However all proposals received by 11 Jul 01 will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete with this proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. FOB point is destination.
