Description
ADHESIVE 15 ORDERS TOTALING 461 TUBES. QPL QUALIFICATION. 8040-00-832-6173 UI: TU ADHESIVE : DESCRIPTION In accordance with Federal Specification MMM-A-121, Adhesive, Bonding Vulcanized Synthetic Rubber to Steel, dated December 16, 1966. QPL-MMM-A-121-19 dated August 12, 1994 or later letter of qualification from the specification preparing activity required. The product shall be furnished in 5 fl oz quantities in collapsible metal or plastic tubes made and fitted for vapor-tight, resealable, screw caps. The tube nozzles shall be factory-sealed for puncture by the user. There shall be no interaction chemically or physically with the contents so as to damage the tubes or alter the strength, quality, or purity of the contents. The filled tubes shall be closed so that the contents will not spill or leak from the tubes during shipment, handling, storage, and redistribution. Shelf life code: 4 (12 months) Maximum age on delivery: 2 months EXCEPTION(S) TO TECHNICAL DOCUMENT Para. 4.2.1: Delete paragraph and rubber recipe table, and substitute, "Gasket rubber stock for testing shall conform to MIL-PRF-1149D dated June 10, 1998, Types I and II, Classes 1,2, and 5. ITEM MARKING Each item shall be marked with the following: (1) lot or batch number (2) dates of manufacture and reinspection (3) manufacturer's name and part number (4) instructions for use, thinning, mixing, shaking, etc. (5) instructions for storage, i.e. do not freeze, requires refrigeration, etc. PACKAGING INTERMEDIATE PACKAGING: Not more than 25 units packaged as specified above shall be further packaged in a close fitting corrugated fiberboard box conforming to Section 6(a), Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification and Item 222 of the National Motor Freight Classification. Closure of the boxes shall be in accordance with Section 7 of Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification. The units shall be protected within the box by individually packaging in paperboard boxes or with full height partitions or other suitable means to ensure that the containers are not damaged during shipment, handling, storage, and redistribution. PACKAGING: Intermediate packaged boxes may be further packed in a close-fitting, corrugated, fiberboard box conforming to Section 6(a), Rule 41 of the Uniform Freight Classification (UFC) and Item 222 of the National Motor Freight Classification. Closure of the boxes shall be in accordance with Section 7 of Rule 41 of the UFC. Gross weight of box and contents shall not exceed 65 pounds. MARKING All unit, intermediate, transport packages and unit loads shall be marked for delivery to civilian activities in accordance with the FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997, or marked for delivery to military activities in accordance with MIL-STD-129N, dated 15, May, 1997, as applicable.
