Description

The Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, Richmond, VA intends to negotiate a sole source commercial item procurement with Medtronic Functional Diagnostics, for the following: (1) Micro Targeting Drive System with Sterilization Case; (2) Upgrade to Stepper Motordrive upon availability; (3) Radionics Stereotactic Adaptor; (4) Single Electrode Insertion Tube Set with Carrier; (5) Leadpoint 4-Channel Micro Electronic Recording Unit with accessories; (6) Carrying Case for unit; (7) Comprehensive Service Agreement for one year; (8) External Constant Current Stimulator for Surface Stimulation Only; and (9) Knurr Trolley. This equipment is to be used with a first generation StealthStation donated by Medtronic Surgical Navigation Technologies. This equipment is needed to perform state-of-the art neurosurgical procedures on-site at the VA. This proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than July 16, 2001. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
