1 ORDER OF 500 CANS 8030-00-244-1298 UI: CN CORROSION PREVENTIVE COMPOUND: DESCRIPTION In accordance with Military Specification MIL-C-16173E dated January 6, 1993. QPL qualification required; QPL-16173-81 dated April 4, 2000 or later letter from specification preparing activity. Class I: high VOC; VOC exceeding 2.8 lb/gl (340 g/L) Grade 2: soft film Size: The product shall be furnished in 5 gallon quantities in 24 gage minimum, metal shipping pails of the type normally used for this product provided that there will be no interaction chemically or physically with the contents so as to damage the pails or alter the strength, quality, or purity of the contents. Each pail shall be provided with a handle of the type in accordance with normal commercial practice. The pails shall, as a minimum, meet the applicable requirements of the National Motor Freight Classification, Uniform Freight Classification, and Department of Transportation regulations. Shelf life code: 6 (2 years) Maximum age on delivery: 4 months EXCEPTION(S) TO TECHNICAL DOCUMENT 1. para. 3.10 add: "Sulfated ash residue shall not be an acceptance test." 2. Para. 5.4 Marking. Black-on-white bar code marking shall be applied to each unit-of-issue and shipping containers. Address labels on shipping containers may be black lettering on white background. ITEM MARKING Special marking shall be as required by specification paragraph section 5.4 and shall include: (1) lot or batch numbers (2) dates of manufacture and reinspection (3) manufacturer's name and part number (4) instructions for use and storage (5) specification class and grade MARKING All unit, intermediate, transport packages and unit loads shall be marked for delivery to civilian activities in accordance with the FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997, or marked for delivery to military activities in accordance with MIL-STD-129N, dated 15, May, 1997, as applicable. QPL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED ALL BIDS MUST BE FAXED TO DANA KARLIN AT 816-823-2136 BY COB 7-19-2001.
