Description

THIS SOLICITATION IS A COMPETITIVE 8(A) PROCUREMENT RESTRICTED TO 8(a) FIRMS WHO ARE REGISTERED WITH THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. Primarily Architectural renovation of two three story modular type barracks with added ground fault electrical circuits, replacement of crawl space and vertical chase domestic water piping. Renovation includes replacement aluminum windows, new vct flooring and acrylic wall coating. Renovation of baths in soldiers quarters and addition of cabinetry and small sinks. Renovation of public area of barracks including baths. Demolish entry and relocate to increase area of rooms. One barracks is 4 modules (88 rooms and two public areas) and one is 3 modules (68 rooms with one public area). Asbestos abatement by others. Repainting with worker protection for LBP. Optional bid item for transport, assembly and set up of Government-furnished furniture in renovated spaces. Exterior work is turf replacement. Located at Fort Polk, Louisiana,. Estimated duration of the contract is 250 days. Option will be exercised at the Government's discretion. The plans and specifications, when available, will be posted as "Internet Only". Plans and specifications will not be available in paper format. Notification of amendments will be made through either 3.5 floppy diskettes, CD-ROM, and/or Internet only. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any amendments to this solicitation. It is the offerors responsibility to view our web site daily for amendments to the solicitation. This is a Competitive 8(a) Procurement. Offers from registered 8(a) sources will be considered. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this project is 233220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, which corresponds to SIC Code 1522. Small Business Standard is $27.5 million. The construction project price range is $1,000,000 to $`5,000,000. The solicitation is tentatively scheduled to issue on or about 24 July 2001, and bids opening on or about 23 August 2001.
