Description
Solicitation N62836-01-Q-0165 Due 8/31/01. Procure up to 22 electric cranes for locations at the Naval Ship Repair Facility (NSRF) Yokosuka, Japan. Types to be procured include jib cranes, overhead hoists, under running single girder bridge cranes, top running single and double girder bridge cranes and gantry cranes. The cranes shall utilize the existing 200 Volt, 3 phase, 50 Hertz alternating current power supply. And shall be designed for use in an indoor environment with the exception of the gantry cranes. The Government intends to award an indefinite quantity (IQ) contract with a twenty-four month ordering period. The minimum guarantee amount is established at two jib cranes, four overhead hoists, and two bridge cranes. Orders may be issued on any or all cranes during the two-year performance period. The specific types of cranes and maximum order quantities are; Jib Cranes: Up to 6. The boom minimum length will vary between 5.3 m and 7 m with minimal capacity rating 2,000 lbs. and 4,000 lbs. and will be identified for each crane in the solicitation schedule. Overhead Hoists: Up to 4. Minimal capacity rating is 2,000 lbs. The beam length will vary between 7 m and 24.4 m and will be identified for each hoist in the solicitation schedule. Molten Metal Service Under Running Single Girder Bridge Under Running Trolley Pendant Controlled Crane: Up to 1. The 4,000 lbs. crane shall have a 12.7m runway length and 3.9 m rail span. Under Running Single Girder Bridge Under Running Trolley Pendant Controlled Crane: Up to 1. The 4,000 lbs. crane shall have a 45.6 m runway length and 8 m rail span. Top Running Single Girder Bridge Under Running Trolley Pendant Controlled Crane: Up to 1. The 4,000 lbs. crane shall have a 14 m runway length and 11.3 m rail span. Double Girder Top Running Trolley Bridge Pendant Controlled Cranes: Up to 4. Minimal capacity ratings between 10,000 lbs. and 19,000 lbs. The runway length will vary between 47 m and 99 m and will be identified for each hoist in the solicitation schedule. Molten Metal Service Double Girder Top Running Trolley Pendant Controlled Bridge Crane: Up to 1. The 10,000 lbs. crane shall have a 113 m runway length and 20.4 m rail span. Heavy Capacity Double Girder Top Running Trolley Cab Operated Bridge Cranes: Up to 2. A 160,000 lbs./60,000 lbs. dual hoist capacity shall have a 175 m runway length with 19.5 m rail span. A 30,000 lbs. crane shall have a 84 m runway length and 18 m rail span. Outdoor Top Running Trolley Rubber Tired Pendant Controlled Cantilever (Open Leg) Gantry Cranes: Up to 2. 19,000 lbs. capacity and 110 m runway length with 10 m rail span. All subject cranes are intended to be based on a manufacturer's standard commercial design adapted to the specified site, except where additional requirements have been added for specific items. The contractor will determine the appropriate specific crane configuration to meet the performance parameters and other factors specified in the solicitation. The contract prices shall include all design, fabrication, delivery, installation and testing required to render the crane ready for use. Such work shall involve the removal and disposal of non-operational cranes at various locations, and the installation of electrical wiring for gantry cranes, such work may also involve the installation of an appropriate travel path. The contractor shall provide equipment and personnel for all portions including delivery and installation, except where specifically noted in the contract. A request for quotations is expected to be issued o/a 2 August 2001. This will be an electronic solicitation only in .PDF format. No paper solicitation will be issued. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held at the Naval Ship Repair Facility, Yokosuka approximately 10 days after initial issuance of the solicitation. This procurement is subject to the Trade Agreement Act. Quotations shall be solicited under the procedures of FAR Part 13.5.
