Description

The Operational Contracting Division at Hanscom AFB, MA intends to make an award on a sole source basis to Silicon Graphics, Inc. for support of the Air Force Research Laboratory, Dynamic Laboratory computing facility for two (2) computer processors (R12000 at 400MHz) and four (4) additional Giabytes of memory (512 MB high-performance custom memory chips) to support basic research in quantum computation. (NAICS Code 33411) A more detailed description of the computer specifications are the following: Prodev C Bundle, single user, MIPSPRO C 7.3, Workshop for IRIX 6.2 to 6.5 (1 EA); MIPSPRO Auto parallel zing option, 7.3 single user floating or Node lock less than or equall to 2 CPU, for IRIX 6.2 to 6.5 (1 EA); SGI 3200 system, 2X 400MHZ/8MB R12Ks, including 1 C-Brick, 1 l-brick, 1 power bay (1 EA); 1 GB system memory (2 DIMMs X 512MB) for SGI 3000 System up to 128 CPUs (4 EA); a one-time hardware upgrade installation for one high-end system (SGI origin series, challenge ONYX (1 EA). If a firm believes it can satisfy the requirements described above, it must submit published specification sheets or product catalogue(s) that clearly identifies the firm's products, which meet the government's requirements. The firm must also submit a product price list (s) relevant to the acquisition. All responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that a purchase award will be issued. If a purchase award is issued no additional synopsis will be published. Any such purchase award will be issued to the intended vendor only.
