Description

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to negotiate a Purchase Order with the KTA-Tator , Inc. The KTA-Tator will be providing testing and data analysis services in conjunction with the AASHTO-NTPEP test program. These firms will develop a uniform database format to collect the NTPEP data. The objective of this project will be to design and format specific and critical performance parameters for the end users. In addition, the database will be used to gain and collect data on trends, tendencies, and the test methods for generic groups which will be under this testing. This testing will be used with the NTPEP data test method. The NTPEP will produce one extra set of test panels for the coating system. The panels will be sent to the US Navy Test Facility at the Navy Research Laboratory, the test will be exposed to test on fences and other equipment provided by the US Navy Test Facility. Additionally, the KTA-Tator will implement visual imaging techniques to be used for inspecting the scribe failure for the NTPEP test for data acquisition. The KTA-Tator has the unique capability and expertise to provide the coatings and performance testings in addition to the data that will be collected for the program. The KTA-Tator has the history and experience in addition to being the sole providers of the performance testing and data program. Therefore, they are the only known source available that can provide the testing, evaluation and have the capability to test the specimens required to perform the work for the FHWA. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is July 24, 2001. =09
