ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SOLICITATION NO.: 193045-01-A-0021 KANSAS CITY KS BMC REPLACE SWITCHGEAR PROJECT NUMBER I90415 On or about 7-16-01, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for replacement of switchgear at Kansas City KS BMC. Proposals will be opened on 8-15-01 at 2:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. NO INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN OUT UNTIL TIME OF AWARD -- FOUR WEEKS AFTER CLOSING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $3,000,000.00 and $3,500,000.00. Description of the work is: Replace major electrical switchgear systems in the Kansas City KS Bulk Mail Center including medium voltage (13kv) substations and associated transformers, transfer switches, power factor correction capacitors, switches and circuit breakers. New systems shall be 'state of the art' with PC based monitoring and control. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 365 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. AFTER 7-13-01 PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS MAY BE ORDERED FROM KELLY BLUEPRINT.
