Description
The Department of the Army, Fort Stewart, GA requires a contract to Replace the Chiller in Building 419. The work shall consist of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and performing all operations required in connection with Chiller Replacement, Building 419, PX, Ft. Stewart, GA, complete in strict accordance with specifications and drawings, and subject to the terms and conditions of the Contract. The work includes, but is not necessarily restricted to, the following items: Remove existing TRANE Model PCV Centravac chiller and associated piping, control panel, purge unit, motor starter, electrical wiring, supports, and concrete pads. Handle and dispose of existing R-113 refrigerant. Install new 175 ton centrifugal liquid chiller, using a refrigerant with an ozone depletion potential of less than or equal to .05, including new piping, control panel, purge unit, motor starter, wiring, supports, and pads. Reciprocating, scroll, or hermetic screw chillers rated in accordance with applicable ARI standards may be submitted as alternates to the hermetic, centrifugal liquid chiller specified in SECTION 15650 to better match the chiller manufacturer's standard size ranges; provided all performance, material quality, and power requirements are equivalent. Thermal Insulation shall be provided and installed. Provide and install new refrigerant monitoring / alarm device, self-contained breathing apparatus, purge and rupture disk / relief devices (vented to the outside), boiler flame shutdown sensor, and other safety devices required by the ASHRAE 15-1994 Safety Code for Mechanical Refrigeration. Replace existing air handling unit (designated AHU-1). Contractor shall be responsible for making all modifications to existing piping, ductwork, electrical, controls, and supports to accommodate new equipment. Provide chiller control panel and controls for AHU-1. Replace duct mounted hot water coils as shown and specified on the plans. Test, adjust, and balance the installed equipment and the existing chiller pumps.
