- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is requesting quotations from vendors for Cages. The simplified acquisition procedures set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13 shall be used. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation. This notice constitutes the only solicitation; therefore, a written request for quotation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is 07-01-43. The total quantity is 150 Each. Requirements: A. Equipment: A total of 150 cages are required. Each cage constructed must meet the following requirements: * the cage should be constructed of a minimum of 12 gauge steel, 69" high X 31" wide X 25" deep; * top and bottom compartments will each hold a stack of 5,000 sheets and shall have a 30.625" high opening; * bottom of cage to accept forks of lifts from front or rear only; * all four sides will have 1/2 -- #16 flattened expanded metal; * the door shall be capable of a 270 degree swing with a piano hinge * the door shall be equipped with two padlocking latches to accommodate a security seal. One padlock for top compartment and one padlock for the bottom compartment; * a permanent clear card holder attached to the interior of the door measuring 10" wide X 11" high X .75" deep; * finish paint should be ANSI-61 gray; * a sticker shall be applied to door front with the following information: Caution! PICK-UP FROM FRONT OR REAR ONLY LOAD BOTTOM SHELF FIRST UNLOAD TOP SHELF FIRST B: Delivery: The Bureau will require one prototype cage sample as the first article, in accordance with FAR 52.209-4. The first article shall be delivered to The Bureau of Engraving and Printing Loading Dock, D Street between 13th and 14th Streets S.W. Washington, DC. 20228 within 28 days after receipt of order. The prototype will be inspected for conformance with the above specifications as well as for high-quality workmanship. Upon final approval of the first article, the contractor shall deliver 12 units within three weeks with the remaining 138 units due ninety days after receipt of the 12 units. The Government may waive the requirement for first article approval testing where supplies identical or similar to this requirement have been previously furnished by the offeror/contractor and have been accepted by the Governement. The offeror/contractor must submit a written request for the first article waiver with their quote setting forth the relevant facts for the request. Delivery terms are F.O.B Destination within consignee's premises to the BEP Loading Dock at "D" Street, Between 13th and 14th Sts., S.W. Washington, D.C. The resulting purchase order shall be firm fixed price. The basis for award shall be past performance, delivery schedule, and price. Past performance and delivery schedule will be given more consideration than price. Therefore, companies are required to submit with their quotes a detailed delivery schedule and data pertaining to company history. Each offeror shall provide a list of at least three (3) current and relevant references with which the offeror has supplied similar supplies. Offerors shall include the following information for each reference: 1. Name of customer of contracting activity 2. Contract number or other identification number 3. Contract type 4. Total contract value 5. Contract period of performance/delivery 6. Description of Supply 7. Marketing or procurement point of contact and telephone number 8. Technical or project manager point of contact and telephone number All interested businesses are requested to submit a written quotation which will be considered by the agency. Quotations may be submitted on a SF 1449 or on company letterhead. Quotations shall include the RFQ number, the proposed unit price, the proposed extended price, any prompt payment discount terms, company name, point of contact, address, phone number, fax number, tax identification number, DUNS number, and size status (i.e., small business, large business, disadvantaged business or woman owned business). Quotations are due 07/17/01 by 4:00 p.m. Quotations may be mailed to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Procurement Attn: Dan Walker, 14th and C Sts, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20228-0001 or faxed at (202) 874-3135.
