Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce,Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS) intends to procure services to develop and contract for a new exhibit module. This exhibit will be about the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary and will be located adjacent to the Caribbean Exhibit Gallery on the first floor of the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. The new exhibit will feature two live animal enclosures, one introductory video, two interactive live-feed videos, and a host of interpretive graphics. Contractor shall provide the following goods and services:1) Development of an overall concept and design for the FGBNMS exhibit with artist renderings of the exhibit layout and major features. 2) Construction of artificial models of corals and sponges to be used in the live aquarium tank which will feature organisms present at the FGBNMS. 3) Production of an educational video about the FGBNMS highlighting unique aspects of the natural features of the Sanctuary. 4) Development and contsruction of the moveable displays which will house the video monitors and interactive computer modules.=20 5) Development and construction of interpretive graphics and signage for the exhibit. This notice is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of Far 6.302. The government intends to acquire these services under Far Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions. Any small business sources, able to provide this service is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 calendar days after its publication. Interested firms should submit in writing, its name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding its capability to provide this service. Contractor shall also provide the name, telephone number, and point of contact for businesses or other Government agencies to which it has previous provided this service. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no qualified responses are received , the Government intends to contract with Audubon Nature Institute, New Orleans, LA. See CBD Note No. 22.
