- Description
- Under authority granted in FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to purchase network management tools and training on a SOLE SOURCE BASIS from Tavve Software Company. The network management tools include 250 nodes of HP OpenView Network Node Manager (NNM) 6.1 for HP-UX with three years 8-5 support and 100 nodes of Performance Reporting Manager (PRM) with 1-yr maintenance including a three day NNM and PRM on-site classroom training event. Tavve and HP are partners in the network management business and have worked out a special deal for their customers that allows Tavve to sell the HP OpenView NNM, only if customers are purchasing PRM from Tavve, because PRM is only compatible with NNM. EPA is currently using two Tavve components "EventWatch" and "PRM" and compatibility and program interests direct that we acquire the proprietary products listed in this notice from their sole source The Tavve Software Company. The Government's requirements for this acquisition are as follows: Specifications: QTY Part Number Description 100 PRM PRM 100 nodes with maintenance* 1 TRN HP OpenView Classroom Training 3 days 1 HPOV25OUX OpenView 250 Node for HPUX with 3 years of 8-5 support * Maintenance includes twelve (12) months of Standard Maintenance and telephone support including error detection and minor enhancements services, release announcements, application notes, error correction releases and minor enhancement releases. This procurement will be pursued using FAR Part 12 Commercial Acquisition Methods under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Sources wishing to be considered must submit documentation to the office identified above. Documentation must be submitted within 15 days of the date of publication of this notice.
