Description
Invitation for Bids ("IFB") GS05P01GCD0007 is a resolicitation of the work requirements of cancelled Request for Proposals ("RFP") GS05P01GCD0003. IFB GS05P01GCD0007 provides for armed and unarmed uniformed security guard services (SIC 7381; NAICS 561612) at five major contract-specified Federal facilities located in the Loop area of downtown Chicago, IL. IFB GS05P01GCD0007 is a national set aside for competitive award through the U.S. Small Business Administration's 8(a) program. The contractor shall provide all required labor and services, including blazer-uniformed and conventional-uniformed guards and supervisors; managers; materials; supplies; accessories; uniforms; equipment (revolvers, batons, etc.), licenses and permits; insurance; coordination; planning; reporting and all other support required to lawfully provide contract-required security guard services. No performance or bid bond is required. When awarded, the indefinite-delivery, requirements service contract resulting from this solicitation will have a single one-year base period and four one-year option periods, with an estimated five year life-of-the-contract value of about seventeen to eighteen million dollars. Solicitation files are expected to be available for downloading on or about July 30, 2001, via either of the following two internet websites: http://eps.gov -or- http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The "EPS" (Electronic Posting System) website is a mirror of the "FedBizOpps" (Federal Business Opportunities) website. Once at either website, type in this solicitation's complete 14-digit identifier -- -- GS05P01GCD0007 -- -- in the website's "Search by Solicitation Number" box, then click on the "Search" button to the right of that box, to be able to view and download the computer files that make up this GSA solicitation, and its amendments (if any). Interested parties may also register at eps.gov or fedbizopps.gov to receive automatic email notices about solicitation changes/amendments, provided they have an internet email address that email can be sent to. Sealed bids will probably be due in mid-August, 2001, or immediately thereafter. Due to the solicitation's internet distribution, GSA distributes no paper copies and maintains no solicitation mailing list. For technical advice on using the above internet website(s) to download solicitations, you may a) send email to eps.support@gsa.gov or call toll-free 877/495-4849 (8:00 am 5:30 pm Eastern); or b) send email to fbo.support@gsa.gov or call toll-free 877-472-3779 (8:00 am 5:30 pm Eastern). Please note that these two technical support sources can not answer any questions about the requirements of the solicitation. All questions about the solicitation itself must be directed in writing to the Contracting Officer identified in this announcement, and must identify the questions as being related to RFP GS05P01GCD0003. No preproposal conference is contemplated. Interested non-8(a) business entities should contact their local SBA office for more information about entering SBA's 8(a) program.
