- Description
- The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision to perform blowdown, all tests, maintenance, inspections, and repairs that may be required by the N.F.P.A. 12A on each Halon bottle located at Bldg. R-2 and at Narrow Cape LORAN Station, U.S. Coast Guards Integrated Support Command, Kodiak, Alaska. The ISC will be provided with the 12-year recertification documents required for 16 Coast Guard owned Halon Fire Suppression storage containers. These range from 36.4-lbs to 340-lbs Halon capacities and are at two different locations. These two buildings are located approximately 35 miles from each other with the closest (R-2) being approximately 7 miles out of Kodiak, and the second (Narrow Cape LORAN) approximately 42 miles from Kodiak. These are on State maintained dirt roads. Performance Period is 30 days. SUBMITTALS DUE BEFORE AWARD. These include: a brief description of the contractor's background in this type of system. Lack of adequacy of references shall be at the sole discretion of the government and may constitute grounds for disqualification. The contractor will comply with requirements of N.F.P.A. 12A, applicable OSHA regulations, MSDS recommendations, and Coast Guard Safety Regulations. Approximately 322 lbs of Halon 1301 will be required. Additional specifications / requirements are contained in the Statement of Work that will be included with Request for Quotation documents, when they are mailed in approximately two weeks. A Site Visit will be conducted approximately two (2) weeks before project quotes are due. The quoter is highly encouraged to familiarize themselves with site conditions. Estimated price is between $25,000 and $100,000. The proposed contract will be awarded under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may submit a written quotation, which shall be considered. Solicitation issue date is approximately July 30, 2001. Written quotes will be due on / about August 30, 2001.
