Description
The NASA Langley Research Center is soliciting information from potential sources from HubZone small businesses for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals for potential procurement opportunities. The HubZone Act of 1997 (P.L. 105-135 enacted 12/2/97)established the program referred to as "the HubZone" Empowerment Contracting Program. Firms can determine whether they are located in a qualified HubZone by going to the SBA web site (http://www.sba.gov/hubzone). One of the primary goals of this synopsis is to seek potential HubZone small businesses for procurement opportunities at NASA Langley Research Center within the research and technology competency areas which are: Aerodynamics and Aerothermodyamics and Acoustics Competency; Structures and Materials Competency; Airborne Systems Competency; Atmospheric Science Competency; and Systems Engineering Competency. For detailed information on commodities for each competency go to URL: http://db-www.larc.nasa.gov/procurement/home-page.html and then scroll down and click on "Business Opportunities for Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Women-Owned Businesses, Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions, HubZone Small Business Concerns, and Veteran-Owned Small Business(June 2001)". Firms having the required capabilities should submit information documenting their ability and past experience in performing similar efforts as described above. In addition, please include the following: name and address of your firm, and size of business (number of employees). Responses are due by July 27, 2001, and should be limited to no more than 10 pages. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified about the outcome of the Government's review of the solicited information. Failure to respond to this synopsis does not mean that a firm cannot respond to a solicitation at a later date. All responses should be submitted to the Small Business Specialist, A.V.Vann, Mail Stop 144, Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA 23681, or email to a.v.vann@larc.nasa.gov or r.a.manning@larc.nasa.gov.
