Description
The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organizaion (DITCO), WESTHEM Computer Technology, Multi-Site contracts and Midwest Area Commands Branch (DTS42)intends to issue a contract for the acquisition of services for the following at Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC) St. Louis: off-site vault storage for 3480/3490 cartridge tapes, 8mm cartridges, 9 track tapes, round reels and other assorted types of media. To comply with regulatory guidance, the back-up tapes must be stored at an alternate location. The facility must be a minimum of 25 miles from the DECC St. Louis physical location at 4300 Goodfellow Boulevard, St. Louis, MO. The storage facilities must be accessible for disaster recovery of media/data, stored on any type of media cases, 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. The contractor's overall vault area must be of sufficient size to store, at a minimum, 30,000+ unclassified various slotted or hung media cases and 170 large boxes (2+ cu. ft., such as dump trunks) containing various media cases. The contractor must also provide a minimum of 1,000 cu. ft., at any given time (i.e. in any one day/week/month), of vault shelf storage space for Uncassified media cases, such as those described above. The contractor must, in addition, provide a minimum of 107 cu. ft., at any given time (i.e. in any one day/week/month), of vault shelf storage space for Classified media cases. The contractor will retrieve and transport media cases, such as those described above, between the off-site storage facilities and the DECC St. Louis. The contractor will provide a sufficient quantity (a minimum of 12 per day), of wheeled transport carts, each capable of holding approximately 400 media cases for the transport of media. The contractor will provide acceptable media transport containers for the rotation of media cases in and out of the DECC St. Louis. Each media transport container should be able to hold a minimum of 40 media cases. Courier services must be performed in temperature controlled vehicles. This does not include all requirements for this acquisition. Period of performance is 1 Oct 01 through 30 Sep 02. The contract shall include provisions for 2 option year periods. Companies who can provide the above listed services must indicate their interest within 6 days of this announcement. Any party interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation shall provide written notice to the Contracting Office. Electronic requests are preferred. No contract award will be made on the basis of quotations/proposals received in response to this notice. The resultant contract will be firm-fixed price. Oral communications are not acceptable.
