Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to negotiate a sole source contract with VEMCO Limited of Shad Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada for the purchase of the VR60 Ultrasonic Receiver System which includes the VR2 Receiver for moored applications, VR2 PC interface for data download, V16P-5H transmitters, and VH10 directional hydrophone. Shipping to Amherst, MA is also required. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Government believes that VEMCO Limited is the only company that can provide this type of equipment. Numbered Note 22 applies. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses received from responsible sources must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Office within ten calendar days of publication of this notice, and must include, at a minimum, equipment brochures, company literature, plus a list of at least three similar facilities who are currently using the suggested equipment. This is a simplified acquisition with a value of less than $100,000.
