- Description
- United Defense L.P., as the prime contractor, is in the process of developing the US Army's next generation of field artillery and re-supply heavy tracked vehicles, Crusader. The Crusader system consists of the self-propelled howitzer (SPH), the re-supply vehicle (RSV), and the re-supply module (RSM), each incorporating multiple Rigid Flex Interconnect Assemblies within computer box enclosures. UDLP is seeking Engineering support services for the design of these rigid flex interconnect assemblies. The rigid flex interconnect assembly provides internal and external interconnects for power and low-level signals. Multiple types are currently needed, being based upon computer box function. The flex design must be capable of handling various grouped Input/Output signal types-Analog Differential/Single Ended , Differential TTL/ Serial/Discrete , Resolver signals , Level Shifted Discrete . The design must also provide a power interface with cards in a VME64X Backplane. Furthermore, the Interconnect Assembly must comply with the following key environmental requirements: -The assembly shall be capable of operating while in contact with a dielectric fluid (Fluorinert) ranging in temperature from -40C to +65C, and after exposure to storage ambient air temperatures between -51C and +71C -The assembly shall be capable of performing as specified both during and after exposure to random vibration as specified by Method 514.5 of MIL-STD-810F Category 24 (Minimum Integrity Test) -The assembly shall be capable of performing as specified both during and after a 20 g 11 msec sine pulse applied in each of the three orthogonal axes, IAW MIL-STD-810F, Method 516.5, Figure 516.5-10 Interested parties that wish to be placed on the bidder's list should submit information, brochures, or literature relative to rigid flex interconnect assembly designs and capabilities to: Lynn Arholm by mail: 4800 East River Road, Minneapolis, MN 55421 by fax: 763-572-3332 by email: lynn_arholm@udlp.com All request must be recived with30 days in order to be placed on the bidder's list.
