Description

This presolicitation notice is a duplicate of and replaces the presolicitation notice previously posted under solicitation number F14614-01-R-0014. The solicitation number has changed from F14614-01-R-0014 to F14614-01-R-0016. All future actions associated with this solicitation will be accomplished under solicitation number F14614-01-R-0016. =20 McConnell AFB, KS has a need for a contractor to provide all management, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, and materials necessary to design (in accordance with provided drawings and specifications) and install a standing seam metal retrofit roof system for building 1106 at McConnell AFB, Kansas. The dollar value of the contract is expected to be between $1 million and $5 million. The work to be performed includes but is not limited to (1) removing and disposing of the existing gravel-surfaced built-up roof and insulation, (2) demolition and disposal of existing flue caps, mechanical hoods, etc., (3) demolition of existing abandoned electrical conduit, lights, etc., (4) installing steel framing system for roof slope and new roof support, (5) installing batt insulation on top of existing roof deck, (6) installing new metal walkways in attic, (7) installing new standing seam metal roof system (SSMRS) with required gable/soffit vents, pipe/vent extensions and curbing/flashing, gable and eave wall panels, etc., and installing flashing, gutters, downspouts, trim, etc., and other roof components as required, and (8) installing new lightning protection system and attic lighting. Building 1106 is a primary aircraft maintenance hangar at McConnell AFB and will continue to be in use during the course of the contract?s performance period. The contract?s performance period shall be for a period not to exceed 210 days. As to be further described in the solicitation, the government is seeking best value offers that propose to accomplish the work in less than the 210-day maximum performance period. This solicitation is being made as a full and open competition. The primary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 1541. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 23331. The Solicitation package will be available on or around August 1, 2001 via the government Electronic Posting System at www.eps.gov. A site visit is planned for Tuesday, 14 August 2001.
