Description
Background "This requirement is for replacing the existing fuel lines for a turbine engine test facility built in the late 1970's. A fuel conditioning system for this facility provides fuel to the engine for testing. The existing fuel transfer lines run from a fuel tank farm to the test facility and are constructed of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), are approximately 275 feet long, and are routed underground. There are two sets of supply and return lines, one waste fuel line, and one atmospheric fuel return line. This project will replace the existing lines with steel lines routed overhead supported by four towers. The supply and return lines are 6"" stainless steel. The waste fuel line is 4"" carbon steel and the atmospheric return line is 6"" stainless steel. Each tower foundation will have two drilled caissons. This turn key job consists of foundation placement, galvanized structural steel fabrication and erection, pipe routing, valve installation and system pressure tests. The existing lines will be flushed, capped and abandoned in place. The performance period shall be 150 calendar days. The estimated magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. "
