- Description
- On behalf of the USAID Mission in Albania USAID Regional Services Center Budapest will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a performance-based three year $6.0 million contract to develop the capacity of small business to directly contribute to economic growth. The Small Business Credit and Assistance (SBCA) program will direct business financing and guarantees and one-on-one advice and technical assistance to credible Albanian small enterprises. The three year $6.0 million new activity will provide loans beween $5,000 to $25,000 or guarantees that share risks by banks lending to client businesses. Guarantees are to stimulate bank lending to small businesses. Counseling and technical assistance coupled with credit will enable client businesses to diversify products or services or expand current operations to reduce trade imbalances or to penetrate foreign markets. The program is national in scope and the client pool included credit-worthy recipients of micro credit and assistance programs. Contract award is primarily based on the program design and significant personnel proposed by the bidder. The Mission expects that bidders will bring creativity and experience to bear in design of three-year program. The intent is to demonstrate to banks that lending to small businesses is good business. Consequently, sustainability of the program organization is important. RFP 182-1-50, and any amendments to the RFP will be issued on USAID's website: www.usaid.gov.
