Description

This is a sole source, combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as well as supplemental information provided herein. This non-competitive action will be processed in accordance with FAR 6.301-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The PTO plans to extend its contract 50PAPT600007 with Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Dept. 105, Redmond, WA for an additional year with two (2) additional option years. This sole source extension with provide the PTO with required specialized consulting services to assist in the methodology, tools, training and experience to leverage PTO's existing technology and the investment made by the PTO in the past. Microsoft Consulting Services provides a high level of training and access to corporate knowledge of Microsoft products including current and future releases as well as access to Microsoft Exchange Server. These services are required to provide PTO with a high level of training on the latest and future versions of Microsoft software. Microsoft will continue to provide careful monitoring and support in the developmental progression at PTO. This extension is accomplished within the original ceiling established by the contract and will involve the negotiation and incorporation of revised labor rates for the extended period as well as option items. This announcement constitutes the RFP and is the only solicitation that will be issued. A sole source proposal is being requested pursuant to this announcement. This solicitation incorporates all of the applicable provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 97-27, as if stated in full text, as well as the terms and conditions of FAR 52.212-1. A firm fixed priced commercial items contract modification will be issued. A proposal shall be delivered to the Patent and Trademark Office, Office of Procurement, 2011 Crystal Drive, CPK 1, Suite 810, Arlington, VA 22202, Attention: Ms. Joan Hanicak, no later than 2:00 PM (EST) on July 25, 2001.
