ISSUE DATE: 7/22/01. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for Lead Paint Remediation at U.S. Coast Guard Group Southwest Harbor, Owl?s Head Keepers Quarters, Rockland, ME (Knox County). The work includes but is not limited to chemical removing of lead paint from all door jams, cased openings, baseboards; removal of all lead painted shelving in basement and attached storage shed shelving and storage loft; remove two lead painted doors in attached breezeway and replace with new in kind; remove one lead painted wood window in attached storage shed and replace with new in kind; new plywood underlayment over existing wood floor in attached storage shed; new two inch thick concrete slab over basement slab; painting of all door jambs, casing trim in keepers quarters and two doors and jambs in attached breezeway. NAICS code is 235990. Estimated cost range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 8/3/01. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
