- Description
- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Federal Support Center, Olney, Maryland plans to install a Fire Suppression System per BOCA National Building Code (1993) at their facility. The contractor shall provide and install a wet and dry pipe sprinkler systems in a two-story, concrete, underground facility, which is approximately 65,000 square feet. Work performed under the resulting contract shall comply with EM385-1-1, applicable Federal, state and local safety and occupational health laws and regulations. A Site Safety and Health Plan shall be prepared covering onsite work to be performed by the successful contractor including all subcontractors and will include a hazard/risk analysis. The period of performance of the resulting contract will be 270 days from date of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Award of a Fixed Price contract is contemplated. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) release date will be on or about July 13, 2001, and will only be provided electronically through FedBizOpps (FBO) web page as discussed below. Interested parties may obtain a copy of the solicitation by accessing the following web page: http://www.eps.gov. FEMA posts all required notices of its contracting opportunities on the FBO site. Potential offerors who download copies of solicitations may register at FBO to automatically receive e-mailed notification concerning issued amendments to the applicable solicitation. Registration is optional. You may still view plans/specifications and amendments without registering. If you register for the solicitation, you will receive a courtesy e-mail from FBO notifying you of all amendments for the solicitation that will be posted to the website. Registration for the solicitation, however, does not release bidders/offerors from the responsibility of checking the solicitation daily for amendments. Plans and specifications will be available for inspection only, at no charge at the FEMA National Emergency Training Center Satellite Procurement Office, Building E-119, 16825 South Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, Maryland. A site visit will be held on or about July 24, 2001, with Bids due on or about August 22, 2001. All dates are tentative and will be verified in the IFB package upon its release. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 235990, Other Special Trade Contractors, with a size standard of $11.5 million [average annual receipts for 3 preceding fiscal years]. If a business including its affiliates has an average sale, or receipts, for its preceding three (3) fiscal years in excess of $11.5 million, the business is not classified as a small business. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the Agency.
