Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service, Pascagoula, MS intends to procure eight non-corrosive underwater video camera housings. The housing shall accommodate a Sony VX-2000 digital camcorder. The housing shall have a minimum depth capability of 300 meters (984 feet). The contractor shall guarantee depth rating, meaning that housings shall be pressure/wet tested to depth rating by the contractor prior to delivery of housing. The housing shall provide the greatest depth capability with the widest angle of view for the camera with the optimum viewing angle being 90 degrees. There shall be two threaded screw holes in the bottom of the housing along the mid-line of the housing for mounting it to an array. The housing shall be manufactured of a material capable of withholding the pressures of the greatest depth it is certified to attain and shall be either non-corrosive or coated with a non-corrosive material. The material shall not promote condensation on the inside of the housing nor the camera due to the temperature changed exposed to from the deck of a ship on the Gulf of Mexico in the summer to the bottom of the Gulf potentially 500 meters below. The NAICS code is 333315. The underwater video camera housings will be purchased under the guidelines of FAR, Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures.
